A PUBLICATION OF THE WILLIAMSTOWN + ATLANTA ART CONSERVATION CENTER
VOLUME 16. NO.1
Art Conservator, is a biannual publication which covers various aspects of treatment methodology, technical analysis, and research carried out by conservators in both our Williamstown and Atlanta Art Conservation Centers. Art Conservator was founded in 2006: its innovative features and accessible articles illustrate the conservation process and describe practical and theoretical issues facing the preservation of our cultural heritage. Each installment also contains a Technical Bulletin prepared by one of our staff conservators, which delves in-depth into a topic of importance to museum professionals and others working with cultural objects. After the Center received a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in 2019, Maggie Barkovic, was named Editor and Art Director of Art Conservator. In 2020, she rebranded the publication and transformed the format to an online, digital platform. The new digital platform promotes accessibility to learning about conservation through an immersive learning experience that integrates multimedia. Previous issues are available through the links below. Maggie Barkovic conserves paintings as the Department Head of Paintings Conservation at our Williamstown location.
